Andrzej Wajda, RIP

Andrzej Wajda was still working into his late eighties, still making films which added value, interpretation and understanding to mere history. The impact of his early trilogy opened the period to many internationally who knew little about it, Man of Marble and Man of Iron did something similar for the seventies. I haven't the nerve to watch Katyn but I know it's there waiting.
