Black Lives Matter protesters close London City Airport runway

Lots about this 'Protest' confuses me.

How is Air travel is racist ?

And why does it take so long and require all those people and vehicles to clear 9 people and a metal tripod off an other wise empty runway ?

They are claiming that it is about the UK's environmental impact on the lives of black people locally and worldwide. I'm assuming that they believe, pollution does not affect the white man. This has to be the leading example of evidence that BLM is nothing to do with black injustice.
