Have you heard of the new Pokemon Go app that's taken the world by storm, people are mesmerized by it, and are walking into things due to being so distracted!

Monday:

"A TV anchor oblivious on Live TV, attributed to pokemon." (Luckily she wasn't driving) This is getting out of hand quickly, and it's only the tip of the iceberg!

A Meteorologist was giving the Monday weather report at 10News WTSP when his TV anchor causally walked in front of the camera, unaware of her surroundings and interrupted her colleague during the forecast.

The shocked Meteorologist said: "She's looking for Pokemon! You guys have got to be careful with these phones and this Pokemon

I had to dodge a woman crossing the Home Depot parking lot with phone in face, yesterday. Think I am going to install a cow-catcher on my car.

or buy one of these.

It is a clever bit of advertising, using the fact that there are lots of people looking at their phones all the time and attributing it to a New Soooper dooooper Pokemon app, so every time you see somebody texting their wife because the trains late, you think of Pokemon................brilliant.

Watching the morning news and they have been discussing this for a few days now. Yesterday they got a tweet from a man who was bumped into by a woman who said she was looking for something. Willing to help her he offered to help her find her. "Pokemon". Until he discovered she hadnt actually lost anything and it was a fictional object.

Police hospitals and cemetaries are becoming extremely angry because of people flockibg to their doors.

And a large group of people were waterbombed by residents when they got inundated by them at a small playground in which they laft heaps of rubbish.

Its not going down well here.

Arlington National Cemetery and the Holocost Museuem have asked the game maker to remove them from the places people are directed to by the game.

Around here, there was a bit of a hubbub when people and kids following the game all showed up at an X-rated "toy" store. Parents were not amused.

But it's so easy to just sheeple along through life isn't it? Sad sad state of affairs aren't we all. If you take a stand, or stand out in anyway you run the risk of being harmed.

Comply comply comply seems that's what we are spoon fed daily.

That is true Lars.

I may never have a page in the history books written about me, but I know in the minds of those around me I did my best to stand by my beliefs and do what I could to support those I love.

cars I have the same issue, can't reply with quote. I make due.

And you are right first you have to like yourself. I think a whole lot of people out there would like their selves more if we stopped pushing the fanaticized version of the perfect human.

We are a confusing lot humans are....

we want to be unique, stand out, be who we are, an individual unto ourselves, while looking like a Kardashian, or greek god etc.

Brings me right back to the media. Stuff it media, stop filling peoples heads with garbage, you are predators, you prey on the weak you make them yearn to be someone different, making them think less of themselves, and when they think less of them selves they follow these idiot's like the Kardashian's and such.

So frustrating humans are.

We tend to avoid the television news, other than the evening news to get the weather prognostications for the next day or two.

On the Pokimon thing. I saw a post on FB yesterday that caught my eye. Someone suggested putting you phone on the turntable of you Microwave and running it for 30 minutes or so to make the app think your walking around. that is supposed to bring you some sort of reward. My first thought was how THAT was going to cause some excitement.

Sure enough, today, there are several people posting complaints about cooking their phone.

bah bah

people would cook their phones and dry their cats I am certain.

OMG look at frozen dinners and pizzas and such, they come in a box then some plastic wrap, and in the instructions.... it states "remove plastic warp before putting in the oven"

NO WAY! who would have thunk, well I guess they have to dummy down the instructions like that because somebody probably melted the plastic to their frozen pizza and complained so next comes better instructions.

Humans are frustrating.

Back to this Pokemone game it's the perfect game to lead sheep around with.

Imagine if you hacked it and started "guiding" people around the world to do gawd knows what for you.

Actually minksy i was having a think about that. I wonder how many companies would pay to have a pokie thingy placed in their stores and businesses?

Just what has changed with this latest Pokemon fad? You see people walking around glued to their phones, oblivious to everything else around them. I've been seeing that for years now. If they're not stuck on Candy Crush, or some other such mindless application, they're texting all their mates - even when they're standing right next to each other. So what else is new?

It was on teh news this morning that someone in Southampton says he has captured every single Pokemon there is - including one he raised from an egg. And I still don't have the foggiest idea what they're on about - nor do I have any wish to.

We did have a rather comical email sent to everyone at the office the other day, stating that playing Pokemon Go, or any other games during working hours is strictly prohibited, and that anyone caught doing so would "have some serious explaining to do". Ah, well. Today, Saturday & Sunday, and I'm out of there.

Maybe this should have its own thread about dishonest media. A woman who was hit by a car and dragged fifty metres during the media hype of this subject, was reported to be playing pokey.

Turns out she was crossing at a pedestrian crossing legally and was hit by a stolen vehicle travelling at a 100km ........multiple newsagencys reported different of course even though the original story of the womans death was reported accurately. Wtf? .....btw her phone was in her pocket.

Then again a pile up in the US blamed on pokemon was actually a hoax.......it never happened ....but once again multiple news agengys around the world reported it.

A young couple left their 18 month old baby at home alone - sleeping .

so they could go out & play this pokemon game.

the child was found outside wondering the streets - child is now in protective custody and the parents were arrested.

Parents said - the baby was sleeping when we left..:-5

What's changed is that instead of playing a videogame and ignoring the outside world, the Pokemon Go game superimposes the Pokemons (monsters) on the real world using the camera's lens and the device's screen! Combining that with the fact that all devices can now locate themselves using GPS, the creators of the game "placed" the Pokemons all over the real world.

What you have is pretty easy to understand: It's called a "Scavenger Hunt." And it's as time-honored as mankind's earliest games. High-tech hide and seek. I remember in the 1970s we used to go on them at parties, and there were even SuperHunts that tasked you with searching the entire community for really strange things. There was a game show on it and even a movie!

'They' wont need to implant everybody with a chip in the brain to keep us under control. Just make us all carry a device that knows where we are at any given time.......it's frightening.

nothing more irksome than a gathering of humans half paying attention to the purpose of the gathering and half paying attention to their mobile devices.
