What a terrible moment.

His contributions to music through ELP are monumental but I still have a couple of Nice albums which I play moderately loudly on occasion. The Five Bridges was ground-breaking and introduced an entire genre, and I enjoy Thoughts - where else would you find a lead singer like that - much as I enjoy Stockhausen, having acquired a taste for both.

I've headed "greatest album of all time" lists with Tarkus for decades.

He was also responsible for introducing lots of classical music into rock, one of the first to do so.
