Where to Start? The basics. The Ku Klux Klan has approximately 150 active cells, operating in 41 states, with membership concentrated in both the South and the Midwest. The KKK is not what it once was but it does continue to survive in various locations throughout the United States. At its peak, membership was in the millions. Now, membership is likely less than 5,000. It is very important to understand - the KKK does not have a central unified leadership. Instead, they are split off into local cells or groups.

These groups generally oppose interracial relationships, homosexuality and illegal immigration and historically express this ideology through acts of terror. We want to remind you: This operation is not about the ideas of members of the Ku Klux Klan. This is about the behaviors of members of KKK splinter cells that bear the hallmarks of terrorism. When members of the KKK like Frazier Glenn Miller, (founder of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party) murdered three innocent individuals at a Jewish retirement home during Passover - the word "terrorism" was seldom found in mainstream media's coverage of the attack. Why? What sort of violence does it take to call *some* factions of Ku Klux Klan what *some* of these cells really are? Know anyone, or looking for a local hate group to join?

Most of those types don't really keep it a secret, anymore.

The KKK is a pathetic bunch, these days.

The KKK are a sad bunch of intellectual pygmies and knuckle-dragging halfwits wearing those 'oh-so-frightening' ghostie suits;-more suited (pardon the pun) to a halloween party or a poor man's masquerade ball! Thank goodness we don't have 'em here; they'd be laughed out of town....Or set on fire! An out-dated costume designed to play upon superstitious fears from a bygone era.

I'm amazed that anyone would want to be seen wearing one! (Maybe that's why they all wear those funny hat/masks?)

Some do, some don't. There's quite a lot of Neo-Nazis amongst them too, judging by some of the images I've seen online. Can you see still pics, Ahso? If you can, here's a selection....

Anonymous may not be as clever as they would have us believe. There are very few in the KKK's various iterations who actually hold on to any anonymity, these days.

Looking through the list, we are shocked to find David Duke? Whoa! Big surprise there.

most of these dolts are proud of their association with Klan organizations. and in most towns, everyone know who they are.

The silly masks are purely ceremonial, these days.

Now if folks like the Bush family, Jimmy Carter, and Dr Carson showed up on the list, THAT would be news.

Calling themselves 'Knights' gives it away really. In the same way as Britain First call themselves 'Knights'. It's nothing more than a self endowed title in a vain attempt to legitimise Nazism.

Agreed, FourPart. I think this world's in trouble. In times past, wars were fought by armies armed with relatively crude, personal weapons. Now, superpowers and wealthy nations have nukes, chemical and bio super-weapons, not to mention well equipped armies, and the terrorists are doing their best to destabilise the apple-cart, aided and abetted by interfering, short-term goal oriented, self-serving, short-sighted, professional political crooks, and their toadying cronies.

It won't take much to bring the whole teetering 'house of cards' crashing down around our ears!
