Charles Kennedy, RIP

I note with immense sadness the shocking death of the most personable Member of Parliament that I can bring to mind.
Charles Kennedy had every quality one could hope for in a political representative. When speaking on a policy he was relevant, intelligent and considerate. I cannot recall seeing him lose his temper or be discourteous on the Parliament channel or, indeed, on any other channel.
His death carries a comparable degree of loss to the country as did that of John Smith and Robin Cook. He was a good man.
