Mandy Rice-Davies, RIP

There were a few moments during the 1960s when the dignity of the ruling class in Britain was so punctured that it has never since recovered. The world still pivots on those moments. One, in the form of an acronym, has entered Internet usage as "Mandy Rice-Davis Applies", or MRDA.Barrister: "Do you know Lord Astor has made a statement to the police saying that these allegations of yours are absolutely untrue?"
MRD: "He would, wouldn't he?"
According to The Guardian there was laughter in court at this point. There has been laughter ever since.
She had a hard life over the years since the trial but she helped change the country. Thank you Mandy Rice-Davies, we're grateful.
