Why does an orange fit in your hand?

Affectionately known as The Cawfee Shop. There's no better place to be than in your own coffee shop discussing "whatever" with friends.

Why does an orange fit in your hand?

This doesn't just apply to lanterns, it relates to the vegetables themselves. Basically, as far as I'm concerned, a turnip is the one about the size of a cricket ball (and just as hard), and the swede is the yellow one nearer to the size of a football.

the yeller one with a purple skin is a TURNIP its what we put in our Pasties and it's what we used to put our candles in as we couldn't afford pumpkins!

What I consider to be a Turnip: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turnip

What I consider to be a Swede: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutabaga

Just to confuse the issue: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyl ... -or-turnip

Turnip is the smaller one with the white flesh. Swede is the larger one with the yellow flesh.

I had to look that up. What y'all call Swedes, we call Rutabaga

We even have a song about them.
