Burger King is trying to let its gay customers have it their way with a new sandwich called the "Proud Whopper."
Simple question.........why?
What next a girlie burger?

Oh for goodness' sake, stop sending me to right-wing sites like Brightfart! What is wrong with appealing to various clientele? It's good for business, I'm sure, and except for the product itself, it is not hurting anyone!

Sorry, but I don't see how that's a Right Wing link. It simply reported the issue with no bias either way.

I meant Breitbart himself was extremely right wing. Just a joke between me & Bruv.

I wouldn't say I was fascinated with them - bemused perhaps. I find that they & the Religious Fanatics usually go hand in hand.
"I am not a Religious Fanatic, and in the name of the Lord I will kill any Commie who dares to think otherwise".

I am fearful of the right wing anywhere, but you need to know what they are up to, dont you?

Actually, I don't like this kind of marketing. Your product should be sound enough without gimmicks... promotions ie BOGOF or special price offers are different.
I find It derogatory to Gay men and women... what next ? The big Tits page 3 promotion ? Or the Builders Arsse Crack deal ? The Geriatric Tenna Lady bun ? The Politicians Burger ( no balls Included )?, Or even, The Scottish Independence Offer? ( Just the bun sitting on It's own )

Because they are the opposite of my ideal.
Normally they are the people at the top of the stack, standing on those below them, enjoying and selfishly protecting their comfortable standing position.
The Gay Whopper just seems pointless, the Gay movement strive to blend in as indistinguishable, what's a gay whopper got that is different to the one they sell me?

Well that's certainly true of UKIP, most are ex Tory, public school yet the electorate are duped Into thinking good ole Niggle Is one of them, down the pub having a pint... who's the other knob who tried that tactic?... oh yes, William Hague.
I can't see the point of the gay whopper either... In fact, I'll stick my neck out and say I'd Imagine the promotion will back fire on them. It has a sneering element but maybe that's just me.
They are an outlet that caters to the masses and good marketing caters for all the masses. Homophobes probably won't buy It, maybe even others won't buy It believing It's only available for gays, thinking hey, I'm not gay.
They've centered a promotion on a small proportion of their mass clientele. Should Gay men and women be offended at the stero-typing they may even lose their custom.
I'd love to see their accounts at the end of the financial year because I bet there would be losses over that one.

I read it as a promotion in San Francisco only, due to it's high gay population.......but even so.

But you can bet, what starts In the USA chains, ends up here...even so, In a large Gay community, I think It could backfire. The public and the Gay community will see It for what It Is... cheap tactics.

That could make for an interesting fun thread. Fantasy promotions for different products.
An Irish Ryvita party - Just for the Cracker Vite.
Tesco Jenga Packs - Every Little Helps.
Wrigley selling Flavoured Condoms - May not taste of much, but the bubbles....

The "Proud Whopper" was in conjunction with the LGBT pride parade in San Francisco. It was only sold at one location along the parade route. Or at least that's what they said in one of the San Francisco newspapers at the time.

That's true.
Breitbart was trying to use it to rile their fan club.
