We've had wonderful weather here in Cornwall these last few days.

Cloudy and warm here today though. Hope the sun comes back soon!

What annoys me with the weather forecasters is that they often stand over Cornwall as the summaries are running through in order to point their fingers at other places in the UK! Use a wand, then we can see Cornwall :rolleyes:

Overcast. I've heard of that. Isn't where those things called "clouds" cover the sun? I wouldn't know about that....I live on the 5,500 feet up the high plateau of New Mexico.

Well it does like to rain in Ireland that's for sure. I've lived and worked there a few times. It couldn't be as green without all that rain.

I lived in Dublin for nigh on a year back in 2001/2 and the summer was glorious. Went back several years later, further south and it was a constant downpour. It was running out me elbows every day :wah:

You know what I love about where I live? No, and I mean no humidity. It's 5% today, which is kind of high.

I'm reminded of the old joke where the sun peeked through the clouds in Seattle and thousands of people called in UFO reports about a big glowing orange orb in the sky.

I'm ideally suited to the majority of Brit weather, as I have a very low tolerance for heat. I had to pop over to the other side of town today to take the bike down to hte shop, and it was ideal weather for me. Overcast, but dry, and nice & cool.

Cool is good. Cool stops when the mercury reaches 60 degrees. And I do mean Fahrenheit. Above 60 degrees is correctly termed unpleasantly hot.

There is an unusual habit in the UK when referring to temperature.

When referring to high temperature, it is given in Farenheit (eg. "Phew, it's hot. It must at least 100F"), but when it's cold, it returns to Centigrade (eg. "It's bitter out there. It must be -3C").

I wonder if this is unique to the UK or if it happens anywhere else.
