According to the Troutdale Police Department, one student was killed by the shooter around 8:07 a.m. Tuesday morning at Reynolds High School, Troutdale’s lone high school about 10 minutes outside of Portland.
No comment as to the shooting, but what on earth does the Sheriff need with a vehical like that?

He's preparing for the day when Americans get their wish to arm every man, woman, child and budgie with an assault weapon - for their own protection of course. That'll stop crime in its tracks, you betcha'!

I suspect it's our Federal Tax dollars at work. Homeland Security Grant Program
That looks like an expensive piece of equipment and I am willing to bet that county could not afford that toy on its own.

The feds ordered up a bunch of those, but then decided they were too heavy and clumsy in county, and only useful in urban areas.
So now they have made a great deal for Sheriff departments around the country. Every Sheriff wants one.

I don't imagine they are very agile in a high-speed car chase, and vision must be awful. How can they spot "the perpetrator" in the dark, sitting inside one of those things?

It's for when they implement the police state, maybe they already have. Or it could be compensation for small penises.

Nope. That is not the American way. Some member of congress put in an amendment to some funding bill that specified how many would be made and where. We call it "pork". It amounts to a no-bid contract to some company in their home state. That way, the member of congress can tell the voters how many jobs he brought to the state and get his "campaign donation" kickback from the company.
