The former chairman of the Conservative Party has said he hopes a dissident republican terror group will shoot Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness for attending the banquet at Windsor Castle and toasting the Queen.

Although I can understand him feeling it, but thought he would be wise enough to keep his thoughts to himself.

That may well go down in history as Lord Tebbit's own-goal rivers-of-blood moment. Martin McGuinness has always been worth a dozen of him, and I'm none too enthralled by Martin McGuinness.

You can understand where he's coming from but it seems to me the only way there will be peace in northern ireland is to bury the hatchet and let things go otherwise it will never end there's nothing simple about it at all.

Someone said on the TV the other night.

I'd rather see Martin McGuinness in a white tie than a black balaclava.
