Wonder what the Sunday Times was on?

Perhaps they were high on a music?

If you look very closely at the pic of The Clifton Bridge, you can see the suicide leapers.

But seriously, I am not Bristolian nor never will be. Having said that, I am lucky here. I'm just outside Bristol so come under South Gloucestershire. For me, I'm within driving distance of The Mendips, The Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Bath, Forest of Dean even Weston-Super-Mare. I have some really awesome countryside around me. Then a short drive and I'm In the Bristol City Centre which I loathe and avoid at all costs except to visit Jock at the Zoo. I like to go to ethnic area's of Bristol such as Easton because I love the diversity of all the shops. There's a spice emporium that's got stuff Sainsbury's have never heard of and a fabulous Turkish supermarket. I'm also half a mile from the prison which Is handy for visiting relatives.

I love Bristol but can't wait to move back to Brighton.

I've been to England but I've never been to Bristol. I know only this:

1. The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol when they do the Bristol Stomp.

2. I think that there's a term in Cockney rhyming slang, "Bristol Cities", referring to a part of the female anatomy.

2. What part of England did you visit and tell us what you thought of England.?1. Well, I do now. And while we're on the subject of football, do you know what a Cheesehead is?

2. This was in 1998, crossed from Hook of Holland to Harwich, went first to London, then Cardiff, then Blackpool, then Scarborough, then back to London. I visited London again several years later.

Mostly positive experiences, with a few exceptions which are better left undescribed.

2. Ahhh Blackpool... I love It !!!1. You are correct, sir! The Pack will be back!

2. I enjoyed it myself, the amusement park has gotta be one of the best in the UK, the food was good and reasonably priced, the place I stayed served an ENORMOUS English breakfast included in the price of the room. And the penny-ante casino machines were a lot of fun on a rainy day.

Mark... I am no Sir. I am female. I am also a lady. I never throw the first punch but I sure as hell throw the last one.

Glad you liked Blackpool. As kids we were taken there every year by our parents just for the fun. As you said, the rides on the Pleasure Beach are awesome. They used to have one ( might still have It ) called The Grand National. We spent hours on that. My parents used to do Ballroom dancing In the Tower while we kids got to play the slots. Oh such happy days.

Speaking of amusement devices, whenever I hear the Beatles' song "Helter Skelter", I wonder how many Americans know what they are referring to.

No worries Mark.

There's still an old fashioned Helter Skelter In my Home City of Brighton and although I'm way too old, I still just sooo have to go on It when visiting.
