Personally I've never found pigs cute or cuddly or even edible ... I don't eat pork.

Well maybe those little "teacup piggies" I posted images of once wearing wellies ... (When I typed this word my spellchecker immediately changed it to "willies" Damn cheek!) ...they were cute.

But I'll say this for pigs they're tough and rather robust as this will show. In what I would only describe as a "Frankensteinesque" experiment, scientists have anaesthetised pigs, drained their blood and frozen them. Don't ask why but they did.

Then they defrosted the pigs, put back their blood and kick started their hearts using an electric shock.

No sweat for the pigs ... they just got right up and went on with their piggy lives. The scientists call it suspended animation.

Hmmmm …. Not too sure what I would call it. Wonder if the animal rights activists will do something?

Well, that does seem extreme, although I'm sure it had to do with legitimate research into long duration space travel. I,too, find it hard to sympathize with pigs, even though they are closely related to humans. I feel more empathy for white mice.
