85 but forever the little cutie to me!

I used to love to watch Shirley Temple movies when I was a kid. She was adorable.

Tell me these two lovely young ladies didn't favor. Two different lives.

Little Shirley Temple was a massive talent. Her singing, dancing & acting skills were way beyond her years. Incredible child.

What do you mean watching them as a little kid. If we are all younger than Moses Then we are children! (Not being offensive, rude, or bashing religion in anyway.) I have bright eyes, Captain Jan and The little princess.

What movies do ya'll still have. Our school got rid of there vcr and I took one home and got all the tapes from my nanna of all the disney movies.

She collected them for me.

When I was a little girl they used to show movies on Saturday afternoon. They would alternate, one week it would be Shirley Temple the next week it would be Tarzan then back to Shirley the next weekend and so on.

of course my favorite movie of hers was The Littlest Rebel.

She was a shining star but not only in her childhood......did you know, She sat on the boards of corporations and organizations including The Walt Disney Company, Del Monte Foods, and the National Wildlife Federation. Anyone who stands up for the right of animals is ace in my book. She began her diplomatic career in 1969, with an appointment to represent the United States at a session of the United Nations General Assembly. Pretty impressive.

That she was married twice....first at the age of 17 and both times to military men.

That In 1972, Temple was diagnosed with breast cancer. The tumor was removed and a modified radical mastectomy performed. Following the operation, she announced it to the world via radio, television, and a February 1973 article for the magazine McCall's. In doing so, she became one of the first prominent women to speak openly about breast cancer.

So to Shirley Temple.....Kudos! Life well lived.

Neither was anyone until Elizabeth Taylor made demands for $1 million for Cleopatra. Before this, "stars" were just commodities. The powerful movie actors of today owe a lot to her.

Judy Garland was forced into addiction by her studio.
