TAMPA, Fla. -- In an attack that's rattled even veteran detectives, police in Florida said a 7-year-old boy has confessed to beating his baby sister to death.

Investigators said the boy was jealous of the attention the infant was getting and upset by her crying. They said the boy beat the baby with his fists, feet and a two-by-four.

The attack occurred in Tampa, while the boy was visiting his father.

Police said the father and his girlfriend were outside with neighbors when the boy came out and told them the baby was "bleeding." They said the seven-month-old had a bloody nose, and wasn't breathing. The parents rushed the baby to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A spokesman said detectives noted they'd never seen someone so young "show so much violence and so little remorse."

Jealousy, how raised, not watching a baby and a young child, outside with neighbors ACKKKKKK people!!! These adults need to be locked up, all of them who won't take the time to supervise children. Good Gawd.

This is a veritable family tragedy, for not only have the parents lost a lovely baby daughter but when the boy grows up if he can ever comprehend what he did and why, he too may have lasting psychological effects (WRITTEN FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITHIN MY FAMILY)

Did you also take notice of the fact this boy was "visiting" his father? I am just guessing, but would bet money that the baby was the product of this father and this woman he is with--NOT the boy's biological mother. Can you imagine what that baby represents in this boy's eyes possibly??

Also, I refuse to believe that little angel baby died quietly. As far as I am concerned the parents need to be locked up and pay for what THEY'VE done! Yes THEY! As we ALL now know, a 7 yr old is not qualified to watch a 7 month old baby!

Police Say Boy Was Jealous Of Attention Baby Got

TAMPA, Fla. -- Prosecutors Tuesday charged an 8-year-old boy with aggravated manslaughter in the May beating death of his 7-month-old half sister. They decided to keep the case in juvenile court.

Police said the boy attacked Jayza Laney Simms on May 22.

State attorney's office spokeswoman Pam Bondi said, if convicted, the boy -- whose name has not been released by authorities -- could be kept in custody in a juvenile facility until he turns 21.

Police said the boy kicked and punched Jayza and hit her in the face with a two-by-four.

The boy lives in Lakeland, Fla., with his mother. He was visiting his father, his father's girlfriend and their two daughters in east Tampa.

Police said he was jealous of the attention showered on the baby. He was angry because she wouldn't stop crying.

The boy initially denied beating the baby, but later confessed

Ah! I KNEW IT!!!!!! Does anybody know if these parents are going to be held accountable too???? This case really angers me!
