Whatever the reason why did it take so much force to arrest her? So how come nobody exerted their second amendment rights a pulled out a gun to defend her?

One version of the background story I found:

Female War Veteran Violently Arrested For Playing Banjo In The Wrong Place At Syria War Protest « Global Elite TV | Independent Media Source

This is ridiculous, why we allow the police in this country to act like this I have no idea.

They would have been shot by the 8 cops with guns.

I love these Youtube videos where people make fools of themselves.

Not only the crazy woman, but the camera guy with his color commentary presented a scene of foolishness to behold. The video only needed a laugh track to be complete.

I like you found that. A blog leading to another blog.

I know the crazy gal's name, Emily Yates, but still couldn't find any independent information.

Yeah, the cop trying to dislocate her shoulder was a real kneeslapper too.

Oh gee, that is what he was trying to do? Golly, I missed that. Makes me wonder about the competency of a cop who couldn't do such a simple task, though I have no idea how to do such a thing.

Mr Tude..........what should a reasonable person expect to happen to them, when playing a banjo in a public place?

Where in the Land of the Free is it legal to play a banjo ?

Or better, where is it illegal ?

While you are answering that one........what about a penny whistle ?

You're expected to know the lyrics of "Oh Susannah", or else, as you can see.

I'm surprised that the cops didn't arrest the guy who caught them mistreating the woman on video. There seems to be a lot of that going on these days too.

I suppose we all have a reality disconnect..

In my world , I would like people to act in a civil manner.

It is not in my world view to accommodate those whose views are based on irrational outbursts.

As the story relates, these men were not local Philadelphia cops, but Federal Parks Police. Seems worse, actually, but maybe the local cops would not have behaved in this way, who knows.

I wonder.............what if it were Steve Martin playing the banjo?

I think charges against her will be dropped, as they are probably bogus, & that the Feds will be charged with nothing.

Was her irrational outburst playing the banjo? or when she was grabbed by surprise (as anyone of us would be surprised) & cuffed?

As for acting in a civil manner, depends on the eye of the beholder. Playing the banjo or any other music is civil enough for most people.

Given that we have all seen the same video evidence and no other clues......so far, what people, in your 'world view' acted in a civil manner, the police or the banjo playing female ?

It is obvious the banjo player and her accomplice had a point to make. I don't pretend to have any idea what that was.

Did I ever say, I hate Youtube?

Why would you hate youtube, it's a treasure trove of old movies, TV shows, cute animals and children, news clips, bloopers, movie critiques, helpful tips for practically anything you can think of... the list is endless.

Her accomplice was a bystander, I thought, I have seen two points of view of the same incident from two cameras/phones.

I find it strange that in a place with so much history, Philadelphia, in a park with a Mall called Independence, an anti war protester can be arrested for......apparently Playing a banjo in the shade of a tree.
