What a distressing moment, one would have hoped David Frost was good for another couple of decades at least.

He was one of the great iconoclasts of the 20th century, one of the small group who tore down with sheer mockery the paper-thin assumptions which ruled Britain after the war. It was a time when the fable of The Emperor's New Clothes suddenly, shockingly, overturned a disgusting smug patriarchy beyond any chance of recovery. On the right day, David Frost was the most influential person in the country.

I am stunned too, he could be smug and a bit pompous, but I liked him all the same.

A possible heart attack while on a cruise, apparently.

Highlights that spring to mind Emil Savundra, and Nixon.

I had a lot of respect for the man. He had a masterful way of extracting truth from powerful people no matter how hard they worked to obfuscate.

I liked him very much since he brought to the U.S. "That Was the Week That Was" in the '60's.

I didn't realize that you'd been so enlightened that side of the pond - a great man and a great show.

One of my most memorable moments... Only Thatcher could stop him.
