Bought this raffle ticket while I was out and about today out in the country here, towns population under 1000.. made me think of you folks.
Told them I did not have a FOID and they said I could either have the money( value of gun) if I won or give it to someone who does have a FOID.
The town was raffling to improve the local kids ball field.

A couple of hours later I am buying raffle tickets at the local speedway for not one but two Berretas, consecutive serial numbers.
I've never noticed this before, to be honest. I've never had an interest in guns, at all. But these folks selling them for the veterans memorial suggested that I had time to get my FOID and train before the drawing... I might decide to keep them

I can't parallel park, but I'm going to master a beretta?:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I could see the point in maybe carrying two guns in the 1860's why would you need two now? Surely you would just carry a spare ammunition clip.

I worked for a company where they raffle off Benelli shotguns. Also seen other places where guns were raffled.

Back in the day one would carry an extra cylinder. That doesn't help if there is a malfunction and that is why some folk even today carry a BUG (Back Up Gun).

The idea here is the collector value of the two consecutive S/Ns.
Besides, they'd make a great "his and Hers" gift for the young newlyweds in your family.

That is what the guy was trying to impress on me, how cool the S/Ns made this...

I couldn't even qualify on an M16 when I was in the military... loud noises make me nervous and I kept jumping at the range. No one in their right mind would trust me with a loaded weapon.
I'd rather win a nice foot massage or something.
