Next Generation Science Standards In Kentucky Draw Hostility From Religious Groups

Matt Singleton, a Baptist minister, is one of the opponents who spoke to the board about why the standards should not be adopted, according to The Courier-Journal. “Outsiders are telling public school families that we must follow the rich man’s elitist religion of evolution, that we no longer have what the Kentucky Constitution says is the right to worship almighty God, Singleton said. “Instead, this fascist method teaches that our children are the property of the state.Evolution a religion, or even like one? I don't think so. I guess these religious people get that notion because people such as myself use the word "believe" when we say something to the effect: " I believe the science!". Which is not the same thing as believing in a myth, of course. That would be like saying that family is a religion when it's said: "I believe my (insert relation here)!"
Some religious people are actually that dumb, but some are smart enough to take advantage of the ignorance of the dumb ones in order to advance an agenda.
So, who are the assholes?
