I love my dog very much but there are times when I don't!

Today was one of those times!!!

Just as I was about to leave the house, in he trots, looking really pleased with himself, covered in skanky, filthy god knows what. I did a double-take (you know when you have to look twice b/c you can't believe what you're seeing) I literally gasped in horror. It was becoming apparent as each funky, 'on the nose' second passed, that he had just enjoyed his own private party in the compost heap out back!

Hehe.......my revenge was swift and brutal! I frog-marched him into the bathroom, dragging him by the collar for the last little bit (you know how they sense it's bathtime, stretch the front paws out, applying the brakes, ever-hopeful that that'll work :wah: ) and washed him squeaky clean. :)

Why do they always save antics like this for when you're about to go out or really really busy??? He's lucky he's cute and that's for sure!

I would have LOST IT!

On my way out the door...get in my way and you die! You are a saint.

Perhaps you can fence the compost pile off?

You do know it is only natural for a dog to roll in the most atrocious things?

I don't know about that. Have a cat and dog you better find a safe place for the litterbox. Dogs really do eat cat poo. Grossest thing I have ever seen.

You had me in stitches! Although you have my sympathies, something similar happened to us last wk!! My lovely pug (w/ a Garfield attitude) found a poopy diaper!!!! UGH!!!!! Oh...he just smelled fowl...my husband caught him chewing it up and and he almost threw up himself just cleaning up the aftermath!! But I must say your dog got lucky going to the "indoor facilities"....which my "not-so-lucky" bird brain was denied! He is used to a warm tub usually however on this occasion I guess you could say (and I quote you...) I frog-marched him--but it was OUT the door!!!! Yeah, I think those front paws left ruts across the lawn!! LOL...I literally hosed him down and I could tell he was so embarassed!! (On my street of 15 houses, there is 1 Great Dane, 1 Dalmation, 1 Boston Terrier, 2 other Pugs, a Collie, 2 Australian Shepherds, a Chihauhau...) so he had plenty to be embarassed in front of! Oh Lordy it was a sight to behold (and smell)!!! All lathered up in soap, looking like some kinda freak show....trust me--he will never do it again!!

Aww Robin, I feel for you. Yuck, yuck, yuck!

Maybe if we put our minds together we could come up with some kind of "Doggie-Disaster Kit" and market it to pet shops around the world.

I'm thinking the kit would be similar to an emergency 'chemical spill kit' containing:

rubber gloves

hazard suit

special breathing apparatus lol

transportable high-pressure shower cubicle

double strength shampoo/detergent

Yes! I can see it now, these kits would sell like hot-cakes. We can't possibly be the only dog owners in need of this specialty equipment. :wah:

My cute little Shi-tzuh Molly loves to roll in my mum's plants that all the cats have wee'd on. And also any pile of horse manure she can roll in. She did go through a phase of eating her own poo :yh_sick So as her punishment, I scrubbed her clean in the bath and brushed her teeth. Its like having an extra child
