I've had two of the most uncomfortable nights and complete lack of sleep due to the heat.
Fans and open windows have not helped either. While my husband appears to be oblivious and continue's to snore like a hippo In labour.
Phew
What's It like for you ?

Cold. Drizzle. Gray. Piss-me-off weather. I'd much rather
sunny and hot. We had a precious few days of my kind of
weather.
I do agree with you on the sleeping part, thankfully we cool
off enough at night here even in hot weather, that a couple of
carefully placed fans do the trick.
Put a really wet washcloth in a bag in the fridge, take it out
and put it on the back of your neck. Feels really good!

Isn't that against the law ?
Our country seems to have ground to a halt with the heat wave we are having.
Thanks for the tip Val.. I will try that.
Meanwhile only my husband goes out and buys a paddling pool for the dogs.

I feel for ya, oscar. I know the experience of trying to sleep with a fan blowing hot air on you. It's awful.
I've found these tips that may help you:

As for the snoring, you may have to get small earplugs.
PS. It's hot and muggy here in Georgia. Around 85 in the day........around 70 at night..outside.

Hot and stupidly humid. I'm used to less than 10% humidity. It has to be at least 25% today. My skin hates it.

Thanks for the tips AFTR.....
I do use wax ear plugs for my husbands snoring already. I would simply have to smother him In his sleep If I didn't.... they also block out Puppy Snoozie Maud squawking at 5 In the morning.
Another very hot day today.

That makes me laugh! New York "low" humidity is like 60! I like the heat outside on a sunny day, but inside, the air conditioners run day & night.

I work permanent night shifts, so the sultry nights don't affect me. And as far as sleeping during the day, I have pretty much gotten used to the hot weather during the day, so I count myself lucky in that respect.

Well, after last summer, when the average high was around 101 f, I won't complain.
We have been seeing low to mid 90's with the clouds rolling up in the afternoon, and bring rain to cool things off.
Afternoons have been rather pleasant.
We have seen more rain this summer than all of last year.
Only problem has been that the mosquitoes love this kind of weather, and you can't go out in the evening without a huge dose of DEET.
