I understand law enforcements position here, though if found guilty 10 years is excessive.

I gave a donation to this guy's defense fund in spite of the fact that he's a conservative. He did the right thing exposing this situation.Lostutter may deserve more credit than anyone for turning Steubenville into a national outrage. After a 16-year-old girl was raped by two members of the Steubenville High football team last year, he obtained and published tweets and Instagram photos in which other team members had joked about the incident and belittled the victim. He now admits to being the man behind the mask in a video posted by another hacker on the team's fan page, RollRedRoll.com, where he threatened action against the players unless they apologized to the girl. (The rapists were convicted in March.)

Exactly what did he do? He hacked into the highschool website and posted pic's of the perps?

10 years is the max penalty for the kind of thing he is accused of. I doubt he'll do time for this.

Well, I am sure that fiver will be well applied to his lawyer fees. along with the five I put up.

Chances are he will get probation, unless he picks a bad lawyer. In which case we should ask for our money back.

That school district's got clout.

He didn't even do that, another guy is claiming the hack. He was given the photos and tweets by someone else as well, so he can't be accused of "stealing" personal information. All he did was film the video that was uploaded by the other hacker onto the school's site, if I understood this correctly. I don't see where he did anything illegal at all... and he's facing the possibility of up to ten times the prison time as the rapists. TEN TIMES! One boy only got a year.

I guess website privacy and integrity is more important than the personal bodily privacy of a 15 year old female.
