Because of an intense interest in the natural world, I tend to create a lot of posts about nature and things of natural beauty as well as things of a less than natural beauty. I decided to go ahead and make one thread in lieu of creating many individual threads.
My favorite of these waterfalls is #7, the Baatara Gorge Waterfall, Lebanon. I don't know if the water created the erosion or if it simply flowed that way because of the opportunity afforded by erosion. Either way, I love the look of it!

				Those are beautiful, Tabby!
On a MUCH smaller scale, here are some falls I took
a trail ride to (about an hour and a half ride as I recall)
see. They are at about 4,000 ft. elevation, and that time
of year are largely snow melt.

Love the video, val ! The creek & waterfall look so refreshing. Did you notice an increase in the negative ions in the air there?
The sound of even small waterfalls is loud and I imagine it must be somewhat deafening around the gigantic ones!

These 8 underground rivers are definitely natural wonders in themselves although their diverted flows aren't entirely so these days due to civic engineering & planning. I like the initiatives in China & South Korea to try and restore some of them to the light of day!

I like the idea of integrating urban buildings with trees but I'm not sure I like the look of these high-rises. It may just be a matter of visual familiarity and maybe it would grow on me, no pun intended. Not sure if this architectural concept will become a trend or not!

I had never heard of this method of apple cultivation and thought it was interesting. It's too labor intensive for mass production but it might be fun for a hobby gardener! I question if an apple raised with limited or no sunshine has the same nutritional value as one exposed to full sunshine but I don't see that addressed in the article. One practical benefit to bagging the individual fruits during the maturation process would be that it would protect them from birds & insects. Definitely novel!

Nice idea but I would not want any part of it.
My experience is when it comes out free there is no respect and greed takes over. Gotta get it before anybody else.
I have a modest garden, produces way more, food than me and the Mrs will eat. It gives us joy to share with friends/neighbors what I grow. I be damned if I allowed somebody just come and help themselves.

It seems others voiced the same skepticism over the inevitable greed in human nature and the project leaders have accepted it as a possibility. It would be a shame to scrap the whole initiative because of a few rotten eggs!

That's your choice and no-one is trying to force you to do so.
Equally, others make a different choice - that's their right and I respect them for it.

Some beautiful lighthouses! ~~~~~> The World's Most Iconic Lighthouses

I'm very familiar with the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras as we used to go camping there every summer when I was growing up. I have a lot of photos taken while posing beside it. They had to relocate it in 1999 due to beach erosion but it's still in the same general area, just 1600 feet further away from the shoreline.
Here's a link that describes the relocation ~~~~~>

We were living in Johnston County when they did that relocation.
We drove out on weekends to check the progress, fairly often.
One thing I miss. Not many Lighthouses here in Colorado.

The vine that ate the south! Kudzu is a beautiful & lush plant, it just doesn't know its place! They say it can completely shroud a house and a car parked nearby in one growing season. Don't stand still!

It's become something of a legend here and as with all legends, myths are rampant. "It can lift a building off its foundation". "It can work through the cracks in your walls and strangle you while you sleep." On a hot summer night, if you sleep with the windows open, just the thought of it can make your hair stand on end.

	But it's pretty!
