This looks like a math puzzle I seen several times on Facebook, which has no definitive answer.

I say this after a Google search for an answer to this puzzle.

That sounds like one of those questions that my high school logic class prof would throw on a quiz. You could tell when each student reached the question by the groans.

If he is telling the truth, then they have to shoot him. But if they want to shoot him, then he must have been lying so they should have hung him. It's a logic loop and makes it impossible to do anything after that.
