Sorry Folks, this Is all I can get for now.

There were 2 explosions at & near the finish line

at this time - 2 have died and 23 injured - of course this count will climb.

Nothing confirmed yet.

Officials are stating these are Bombs and some are saying explosions.

small explosive devices found in trash cans.

a third Bomb/explosive device was found and officials did detonate

all are on high alert

Today, in Massachusetts & New Hampshire (& one other New England state I think) it is Patriot's Day, a very important holiday in those states that celebrate. Schools are closed, parades, pageantry. This celebrates the American Revolution.

I remember reading of a new & different Patriot's Day, re: 9/11, but the New England one is the original & celebrated many years. The Boston Marathon is always run on Patriot's Day, if I remember correctly, having lived in both NH & MA.

The third N.E. state is Maine & the Boston Marathon is definitely always run on this day.

Another bomb went off at the JFK Library

no one was affected/hurt by this bomb

officials feel it was related to the Marathon bombs.

& I remembered it is also celebrated in Wisconsin as a school holiday. I have lived in 3 of the 4 states that celebrate the day. I must be a super-patriot.

There was an older person that was nearly to the finish line when one of the bombs went off nearly right beside him and his legs went all wobbly. The way he landed, I was afraid of a fractured ankle. Small potatoes compared to the rest but that one image is stuck in my mind.

I'm hoping it's a home grown attack, NRA inspired, to prove it's not only guns that kill people. Time will tell.

I hate this. Arms, legs blown right off people. The Marathon was honoring Newtown today.

I heard they found two unexploded devices, they should be able to figure out who was responsible pretty fast by examining them. We probably won't hear about it for a while though...

I'm going to reserve judgment on that, the Post is right up there with the Daily Mail and I can't find any other reputable news sources reporting it.

If you have to resort to killing innocent people, your cause is no longer righteous.

London is now on High Alert & calling in all agencies.

News just stated if these bombs have Ball Bearings Officials will know who "they" are.

I couldn't find anything else either, that popped up on facebook and I've been waiting for it to pop up elsewhere but nothing yet. Bed is calling me now.

As I was viewing the photos the thought crossed my mind that if America wants to behave like Israel, we'll be treated like Israel. It looked frighteningly like Israel where these sort of bombing seem to be common.

I fear we'll have to begin to get used to this sort of thing unless we change or treatment of others.

Could be domestic terrorists too.

I won't ever "get used" to violence. I won't condone it. I won't ignore it. I won't be desensitized to it or try to understand it.

I abhor violence. I detest it. I despise it. For any cause or for any side.

I stood against it when I was a child. I thought I could fight violence with violence when I was a young man. In my middle age I dealt with it. Now that I am old, I understand that violence has never been a solution to any problem. In my life or the world's.

It has cost me friends, relationships, jobs, and homes. It has gained me blood, stitches, loss, heartbreak, and jail time. As far as I can tell, there is no good use for violence in any situation.

And to imply that, somehow, due to events, innocent people deserve violence is insulting to me.

Instead, what I wrote was that unless we as a nation commit to changing our treatment of other nations (i.e. invading other countries militarily and/or commercially), I fear this sort of thing might continue to befall us.

We don't behave like Israel, Israel behaves like us. Don't jump to conclusions about this bombing until we know (& we may never know) who is responsible.

I have a feeling they were home grown.

I cant see any mileage in the IRA operating in the US and detonating nail bombs. Its where their biggest support would be. They may however passed on some of their expertise.

Boston is the most welcoming of all to the Irish, whether documented or not. If anything, Boston is a hotbed for the IRA, not against.
