A Judge called for a review of Britain's weapons laws yesterday after a 62-year old grandfather was killed by a man armed with a crossbow and two samurai swords bought by mail order.

The man told the judge that he learned how to use the crossbow by watching violent films such as ''Kill Bill' and Blade'.

I'd find it very hard to believe this guy became proficient with a crossbow by watching a movie. You can learn the basic functions of a crossbow by seeing it used, but that's about all. It's not a very complicated weapon.

Buzzard, I didn't see the story when I clicked on the link, do I need to go further into that area to read the article?

This would seem to prove my point about negative movies and music causing bad behavior.

Not the first time it`s been used over here. One guy a few years ago not only shot a couple of innocent bystanders dead with a crossbow but also then went to the house of his estranged girlfriend`s father, and decapitated him, but left the body in the bed, so the head appeared "just " to be sleeping, until police pulled down the covers, and discovered a decapitated body.....truly gruesome/....

interestingly, i see this as proving the point that defense attorneys have no shame in preying on the credulity of juries.

And too much sex as well for that matter. They cannot make films llike they did back in say,before 1970. Oh I know sex and violence brings in the big bucks. But Please gives us better stories.

Following this logic, the "Judge" should continue the review of Britain's weapons laws. They need to include:

1. rocks

2. scissors

3. pencils

4. protractors

5. compasses

6. steak knives

7. 5 day old churros

8. sticks

9. bats

10. golf clubs

11. fishing poles

12. keys

13. walking sticks

14. toe nail clippers

15. knitting needles

The importation and possession of such items should be a crime!
