I'm sorry to hear that. I've seen him in a wide range of roles & productions, both comedic & dramatic but the best memories are of him in the television comedy with Felicity Kendall that was called "The Good Life" & "Good Neighbors". It was called one thing in the UK and another when it was shown here in the USA ... I can't remember which title went with which country but it was a lot of fun.

I enjoyed the lady who acted as his wife in The Good Life. Anyone know her name and is she still alive?

Seems every male on the planet liked Felicity Kendall, must have been her ditzy portrayal in The Good Life.

RIP Richard, I remember him in many roles, including Roobarb and Custard. Richard Briers: a life in clips | Television & radio | guardian.co.uk

That's where I've seen him, he was a hoot in that show. He's been cast with some very attractive ladies as his wife, I always thought Susan Hampshire was incredibly good looking.

I thought he was much older, I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

I loved watching Felicity Kendal in 'Rosemary & Thyme'.

That's a fun show. I've only seen a few episodes since it came on at a weird time on PBS but I really enjoyed it. I really should look it up on netflix, I bet they've got it for streaming.

BTW, I agree with Theia.

Excellent. I usually do too, more often than not.

Some really lovely tributes on the news...Penelope Keith (Margot in the Good Life) was saying that he was a true gentleman. And several people, who at one time lived near him, said he was totally without any pretention and just a very ordinary and pleasant man who happened to be an actor.

You will be greatly missed by many people from all over the world, Richard. Whenever I saw a drama, or comedy advertised on the tv and it included Richard Briers in the cast, then I knew it would be worth watching. You brought much pleasure to many.
