At least this is one up from the last few I have seen. This cleric is one of the first I have seen forbidding the killing of girls that have been raped.

Sad that it has to be made at all.

And for those wondering who the Shabiha are.

Shabiha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seems they're a militia/security force not part of the regular army. A mix of mercenaries thugs whatever.

Never met many Muslims? There's a Muslim family just up the street from me. The father would die for his wife and children without hesitation. They're Egyptian, his wife covers all but her face in public, she dresses as she likes. She is a doctor now. My wife has a friend from Kazakhstan, she's Muslim but you'd never know it. She's kind of a cradle robbing slut too, pure blooded cougar. :) She's got this thing for guys in their early 20s. LOL!!

Muslims are everywhere TD

In america you have religious leaders and politicians talking about "legitimate" rapes presumably as opposed to those where the slut was really asking for it and just pretending to say no. It's the same kind of mentality - women provoke men to attack them therefore must be punished.

I only heard the one ignorant politician say that.

It's your country there's an awful lot who seem to think like that living in it. You even had a presidential candidate in record as saying he would ideally like to ban contraception and steps have been taken to end free access to contraception. To me it's indicative of a mindset that doesn't see women as being able to make choices for themselves and liable to provoke men to violence. You have to live with them I don't.

It's mainly the religious right. I think you only hear about the nutters. I think they say crap like that to get attention. Now they've found out that they're unelectable so things are bound to change a bit.

Or I only pick up on the nutters, your religious right fascinates because they are so extreme, quite often it's along the lines of look what this crazy American is saying and yes I do look at the likes of the racj-hel maddow show sometimes. . We have our own though but they tend to be a bit thin ion the ground. Christian party candidates tend to lose their deposits if they put forward candidates.
