Dr Mario Cochiengco Mabalay, Fellow in Pathology, Dermatology & Family Medicine. He got his training at the Leonard Wood Memorial Foundation in Washington DC West Virginia USA (1960-63). He returned home because he missed cockfighting & fishing.

Cockfighting & fishing are Dr Mario`s favorite sport he inherited from his father Dr Epifanio. In his younger years he was into golf, tennis, basketball, chess, bowling. He won second prize a radio in the middle sixties in walkathon, In his UP-Cebu High he was the class editor. He was into almost everything. He could sing, dance, play the ukelele & harmonica. He loves betting in numbers game e.g Jai-Alai, lotto..In social life, he became a governor representing Cebu Medical Society in the Philippine Medical Association, Philippine Academy of Family Physician, a navigator of the Knights of Columbus Cebu 5308, a former counselor of Kasambagan, Mabolo, Cebu City. His classmate Congressman Pablo Garcia said they used to call him " The Kid " because he`s restless & always kept himself busy. A professor in Pathology & Dermatology. His students attest his mind is photographic memorizing the book Pathology & Derma. He knows how to paint, made charcoal drawings of my mother Julie. He was also into poetry.

I'm glad to hear your Father stays active and he looks very healthy.
Cockfighting is considered a sport in many areas and is still in the US.
It's frowned on but still continues.
Your Father should be proud of his accomplishments.

I have just always failed to see the attraction of watching creatures tear lumps out of each other....
Then my animal charities and my hard earned earned donations are left to pick up the pieces.
