"Doomsday Preppers explores the lives of otherwise ordinary Americans who are preparing for the end of the world as we know it. Unique in their beliefs, motivations, and strategies, preppers will go to whatever lengths they can to make sure they are prepared for any of life’s uncertainties. And with our expert’s assessment, they will find out their chances of survival if their worst fears become a reality. "

I would like to stay more positive....it's not the first time the end of the world has been predicted.

It will come and go like any other day..
what I do think is really cool is the upcoming 12 of Dec.
I want to do something special on noon at that day cause it will be the last time in this century that the dates will match: 12.12.12
so if I do something at noon then I can remember that on 12.12.12.12 I did something special. If by chance I can nail it down to 12 seconds past 12 noon then at 12.12.12.12.12 I would have done something cool!
I think I might parachute or bungy jump or something I have never done befor.

Well, I reckon the winter Solstice will start about then (wee hours of the morning in Missouri).
Other than that, I don't expect it to be much different than any other.

I keep hoping I will meet one of those who believes in the 12/12/12 end of the world so I can ask them to give me all their money, They won't be needing it and if they won't give it to me then they obviously have doubts so I would be interested in their response to the request.
I've watched some of this.Doomsday preppers is a peculiarly american phenomenon, interesting they believe the response to a crisis will be breakdown in society and dog eat dog rather than people pulling together

I think 12/22/12 will be a day like any other but I'm going to wash my hair and do my nails the night before just in case ... if I have to battle for survival, I want fluffy hair.
Clearly I did not do well on the quiz. :yh_nailbi

You know, extreme "Doomsday" prep seems way to negative for me to spend my time doing it. I once asked my mother what she would do if there was a total nuclear war. She replied, 'I wouldn't want to be one of the survivors." That seemed pragmatic to me, in other words, "I'm not going to waste my time and energy worrying about that unless it actually happens."
Personally, I think a few small things couldn't hurt, like a 6 month supply of canned goods, a personal generator, a solar radio, etc. But no way am I spending serious capital for such a thing.
(Of course I have the advantage of living where there are no earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, violent weather, hurricanes, floods, or volcanos. Also, we have two large power plants, a large coal field to supply them, oil and gas fields with accompanying refineries, three rivers, a large hydroelectric dam and massive reservoir, and the world's largest single-entity irrigated farm right next to town. If the world went to hell, we'd just raise our own little flag and carry on...)

A Reuters survey in May found that one in 10 people believe that the Mayan calendar could signify the end of the world in 2012, and 15 percent of people believe the world will end in their lifetime. Maybe it should, we're too stupid to live.
