Actually if you look back at those who created the welfare state - the socialists ansd liberals, they had an even bigger contempt for the work shy than the tories ever did, difference is they had contempt for the real work shy the tories just hate everybody.

He has agreed to find another £10billion in welfare savings by 2016, having already slashed £18billion from a vast budget that grew by 60 per cent under Labour.

this is what gets at me ....not saving on taxing banks etc etc ...but saving on welfare....welfare is what happens when governments stuff up .. what's to say these parents with large families didn't have jobs in the first place? but the economic downfall (because of greedy bankers) has made them benefit recipients?.... it's like in this country ..everyone is dissing the mining tax ..apparently it's going to cause a loss of jobs and cause price rises....bulshit!!! utilities had already gone up and people are out of work. But those who make billions of money offshore have been asked to pay a bit more for our ...Australias' natural resources....boo effing hoo!!! PAY FOR OUR stuff ..sick of giving it away and then told "well we'll just go somewhere else" ..crap!!! who have you got Africa? Russia? .....line them up cause I want to tell those in the soup kitchens (who have jobs) ..yes you've read me correctly ...that I've personally hit those barstards over the head!!!

I can't actually see It happening. The coalition seems to be based on the Tories opening their mouths and the Lib Dems shutting them. The Tories become more far right by the day and the LD's become more far loony left by the day.
It was never going to work In the first place, It was nothing more than the LD's selling out to get jobs for the boys not a real desire to form a united government.
The problem with this proposal Is that like most of the ridiculous notions Cameron comes out with, It hasn't been thought through. While targeting the reckless, the genuine who already have their families and are suffering because of genuine job loss will also suffer.
Far better to cap or eliminate over-sea's aid especially to Pakistan after we now know our tax payer's money is being spent on war planes.
