I just heard she's in the hospital with cancer spread through most of her body. Is anyone here still in touch with her?

Yes. And I didn't know she was actually in the hospital,

but apparently it's very bad. I think she wouldn't want me to say

more, so I won't, but I do think she gave up typing at least a

couple of weeks ago.

She has been in the hospital for about a month. She is receiving treatments for her cancer. Some folks are still in touch, a couple in person. All that we know is that she is still in. She was in a great deal of pain before going in.

I have communicated with Linda over the years and she would send me sites reporting large catches as she knew they'd be of interest to me. Every now and then out of the blue she'd get in touch asking how my own health was doing. All i ever saw was a wonderful caring lady and our thoughts are with her right now.

I am so very sorry to hear about lady cop and her illness. It just seems not to long ago she was telling about her impending marriage. I loved reading about her life as a cop. If anyone talks to her please tell her how much we all wish her well. I lost my husband to cancer a year and a half ago and so I know what a living hell it is.

LC and I go all the way back to the early days of FG. I wondered what happened to her. I know she had a forum on 24hourforums.com for a while. guess I'll check over there to see how she is. She is one of the few that has always stood with me.

Hers was one of those unique personalities that drew me back to this place on a daily basis at the beginning. Definitely not a type I found in my real life.

There were always threads that had me sitting here just laughing at the screen as I read them. I don't think they were intended to be funny.:wah:

Thank you for letting us know, Snooze.

I'd like to put one of her favorite poems here, as a

small tribute to her: (Author, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae MD)

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

I got to know Linda when she Invited me to join another forum 3 years ago.

We have always stayed In touch and she only e mailed me a few weeks ago.

She had moved down to Cape Cod and had re-kindled an old relationship.

I was so pleased that she had someone who loved her at the end.

We shared many laughs but she always, always asked after my husband.

It was an honour to know her and an honour to be called her Internet friend.

I shall miss her always :-4

Very sad news. There is little I can add that would be adequate. I'm sorry we didn't keep in touch in recent years. She was feisty for sure and it was always best to keep on her good side. She took no prisoners. May she rest in peace indeed.

She was my first friend here on Forum Garden. Although I have met some terrific folks here since then, she holds a special place in my heart. I miss her.
