So today went from just a little front yard work, to

about 3 hours worth of trying to save a mama duckling

and her 8 babies. It's really too much to go into, but

suffice it to say it involved landscape cloth and flattened

cardboard boxes and clothespins and rope and and and...

My city boy husband was the one that finally managed

to catch her.

Where she was:

Where we let them go:

Four people are very tired, but VERY glad we did it, those babies

would have been toast in this neighborhood!

Good job, Valerie!! That had to be a satisfying feeling to see them paddling away in their new environment! :)

They were pretty bad Snooze, but thankfully at least it was because of

all the commotion, people in their yard etc. and not just incessant

barking, that house is only 2 doors down from ours, so I would really

hate it if I heard that all the time!
