Ah, another movie that serves to tickle conservative paranoia.
You do enjoy dumb fairy tales, don't you.

What does "tickle conservative paranoia" mean in regards to this movie? It just looks like a lot of explosions centered around space monsters. It also looks a lot better than the one Transformers movie I saw part of a while ago... god, that was an awful movie.

I know it`s awful but I like the part when the USS Missouri swerved to the side with guns aimed at the aliens ( their ammo missing the target ) & kaboom!!!

Just another evil foe threatening (American) human existence. Stories like this serve to keep the troops motivated and ready and excite the younger future recruits.
A shitty conservative movie, that's all it is. Hollywood is loaded with paranoid conservative storytellers.

I think you're reading too much into it, we've had movies like this around for a long time... the special effects have just gotten more advanced.

I do like some of the reviews.
"Dramatisation of the Village People's finest ship-based sing-song", for example.
"If you found Transformers just a touch too subtle, this is the film for you".
"Preposterously lunkheaded salute to American naval machismo".
"The most expensive B-movie ever made".
"Explosion porn".

I'm reading this exactly right. The difference is I don't take it so lightly.

With all due respect, Dick Cheney is hardly a witless idiot.
Never underestimate your opponents.

The movie was produced by Hasbro.
I see a whole new line of toys coming out just in time for Christmas.

Hasbro is a well known pawn of the brainless conservatives. Wait, what?

I suspect that it might be the other way around.

Never underestimate your opponents. Why? Is it because he's capable of making his paranoia appear justified? There's no question paranoia is a well honed survival tool. Dick's problem is he doesn't bother to employ any reason to counteract the fear. Cheney only offers reasons for his paranoia. That's not smart, it's delusional.

Your ignorance is showing.
Again, with all due respect.
You should study the guy.
