This is one of the least boring of all the cams, since

she's on and off quite a bit, and even feeds enough

to catch sight of it:

Hummingbird Nest Cam, Ustream.TV: Phoebe is a Channel Island Allen (S.s. sedentarius) hummingbird in Orange County, California. She has been laying 4 to 5 ...

Enjoy!

Thanks Val, I bookmarked it so I can peek in her as the season progresses. I saw a chart a few days ago that showed how the hummingbirds have migrated back to the USA much earlier this year due to the warmer temperatures and also how much further afield they've gone for the same reason. I don't put out the special hummingbird feeders but it's always fun to see one hovering around the flowering bushes and hanging baskets, etc. Some of them aren't much larger than fat bees and I do a double take to even recognize it as a hummingbird.

Ha Ha I know what you mean! Ours here (I believe they are 'Anna's' are year round residents)

are so fascinating to watch. Especially what I call "Hummer Wars" you can hear their little

bodies hit with a THUP... pretty intense fights over food!

She's just left the nest so I got a good look at the babies.

Aaaah, she's so tiny and precious. She's back on the nest.

I miss some of the birds I grew up seeing in California... I've only heard a few Mourning Doves here, no sight of them and I haven't seen any hummingbirds at all. We've got Canada geese twice a year but I miss my small birdies.

I found the link for the early migration this year but it's just for the ruby-throated hummingbird that's common around here.
