I am In two minds about this.

If pubic sector can carry out desk jobs leaving sworn Officers free to patrol the streets and free up Officers, I am all for It.

I would not welcome any other measures.

Scares the hell out of me, there's too much money in politics now. What do you think these private companies will do? They would just be mercenaries.

Funny isn't it? Who pays the private operators? Who will they eventually be working for? The public? Nah uh.Just off topic for a moment (and this is why I would be dubius of privatisation on this kind of decision from our own police chief) Apparently we need 100 more riot squad police in Melbourne because ......I kid you not........the riots in london.

Could someone explain to me what the hell the riots in London have to do with Melbourne town all the way across the world??? and this is scary for a couple of reasons I've been in the country side now for about 12 years recently on a trip to Melbourne I saw something that sent chills down my spine, not a police car or van but a "public order squad" van. When did this happen ??? What is happening in Melbourne that ahs made our government liken our streets to south africa during apartied? And that comes on the back of information coming from the different states on the issue of tazering. Wehn the tazers were introduced into Qld it wqas introduced ont he basis of preventing the use of fatal gunshots . Since being introduced over 2000 people have been tazered .....does that mean that QLD police would have shot fatally or otherwise 2000 people?

To privatise a police force is to stop open accountability and if you ever want to sue for anything wrongful you will be suing a private company that come under with very different laws ...... Good luck with that.

That doesn't work, logically. The police arrest you and you are charged by the government. If they are arresting you on behalf of the government they work for the government and privatizing just means we think more "middle men" in the world is a good idea. Because, apparently, not enough people make a living off of doing absolutely nothing.
