Some people who don't speak may be ill - but certainly not all. I'm a fan of silence (to my gf's dismay).

Sometimes, silence is a good thing, if you are listening. Sometimes, speaking out is a good thing, if you want others to hear what you need to say.... as long as you make eye contact.
Stress can make us ill.

There are 2 sides of me:
I'm always very polite and quite quiet at first when I meet people. They will never see how I really feel about things at home or how I feel about them. I keep that to myself (This is the silent part I guess).
Up to a certain extent I bottle things up and show the world my smiley face instead (again keeping silent).
But if someone really pissed me off or doesn't treat me with respect, I explode.
I agree with along-for-the-ride, stress can make us ill. It makes me ill by keeping silent sometimes. So I've decided to speak my mind in a (reasonable) matter to anybody that comes along.
Live's not worth keeping silent, getting stressed and then getting ill.
