For some years I have had some aviation art In storage.

Mr O will load some pics shortly.

Getting valuation on this particular art Is difficult because even the specialised aviation art dealers have not had one come up for auction before.

The first Is a Limited Edition No: 146 of 1000 of a Hunting Percival Provost signed by the artiste Brian Mullins with ' Reproduced by kind permission of The Minister of Defence' at the bottom.

Not much to shout about, but here's the thing....

The second Is the original pen drawing used for the limited edition print, signed by Brian Mullins.

We are looking to place these In auction very shortly and no-one has a clue what they are worth,

Certainly treasure rather than trash and you'll need a specialist auction to make the best of it.

There is a market but your relying on getting the word out. If I had to guess I'd say £200 to £500 but I'm no expert so I've no reputation to loose :-)

Is there perhaps an aviation museum in your area? I was thinking maybe you could take the print there. They may be able to give you names of aviation art collectors in your area. :-3

You need to be on "Antique Road Show" The go from town to town here in the States and setup in school gyms etc. People bring their treasures and see if they are infact valuable. Love the show and some of the items are worth a ton of money. The have the best of the best evluate antique items no matter what they are. They give their anlysis of items and what they think it may be worth.

Thanks Kalie and a good Idea but we have made so many enquiries In the past. The problem Is, none of them have ever seen a Brian Mullins original pen sketch come up before. There Is no precedent.

I have a wide range of aviation art that Includes some Dutch Airplanes. Trying to get those valued Is a nighmare also.

The truth will come when the pics finally go under the hammer.... we are so excited.

Mr O has just had a very Interesting telephone conversation with the artiste. He was rather amazed that we had the original pen drawing.

It was actually Mr Mullins who restored the aircraft and needing for thousands of pounds for propeller bearings drew the sketch to raise money which went on to become the limited edition. The actual aircraft Is now In New Zealand and our original pen drawing Is certainly not trash !!!! He has put us In touch with a specialist.
