They're offing their street dogs to clean up their image. This is BS, I've seen these dogs everywhere. I've never been bitten in all of the encounters I've had with them.I've never seen them attack anyone. I've seen them war with one another, pack against pack and around Ismailova their butt sniffing conventions can get really loud but other than that they get along with humans just great for the most part. They're ubiquitous, every apartment complex has its pack, every Metro station has fat (usually obese) dogs in front of it. Cats too, every apartment building has a few living under it and the train station in St Petersburg has a small population living under it amongst the Kiosks, they mostly hang out around the large super markets entrance.

Invest some money in sterilization efforts, they do it all over Russia. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than this. Whoever came up with this idea should be shot and tossed in an oven. This video is disturbing.

I can't imagine the prevalence of rabies, ticks, and typhoid fever that would have to run rampant there...

Burning them alive is horrendous

As was said there's no evidence of burning them alive. I don't have a problem with getting rid of dogs in this manner. That's what they do at vetenary surgeries.
