Are the Americans following the crisis in the political life of Britain's Secretary of State for War? If anyone remembers Mark Thatcher, whose "business dealings at the time that his mother was the Prime Minister were the subject of much press attention", we now have one Adam Werritty who gives the appearance of having acted as Liam Fox's negotiator or agent in matters where Dr Fox, from his official position, might influence the placement of weapons contracts in the more corrupt parts of the Middle East. Unlike Mrs Thatcher, Dr Fox has been far too closely involved in unchaparoned meetings to survive the fallout from the blatant scandal.
I'm not suggesting a money trail will ever be uncovered to offshore accounts but I note, Dr Fox, that Toynbee Hall still appreciates volunteers when it comes to cleaning toilets. Or would you prefer to clown around the political periphery like Neil Hamilton?
Background: an extraordinary Independent article two days ago and today
and Diego Brown and the Good Fairy, quite likely out of context.

I doubt it. Michael Jackson's doctor is on trial and that is much more important than this. At least labour are better at hiding this kind of thing, do you think he will do a Mandy?

If you mean can Dr Fox get back into the Cabinet, hell will freeze first. Not that he's yet out of it, which adds to the spectator value of the next few days.

Meanwhile our politicians decry the decline in family life and of morals in society and wonder why people such as Jordan become role models. Personally I think there is more honesty and integrity in one of her artificial tits than any banker or politician.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving bloke.
Except Govey of course, but nobody could get that lucky.

I have a hard enough time keeping track of the crooked politicos in my own county, much less the country. To try and track your crooks as well is asking a bit much, dontcha think?

Put on your thinking cap, Lars, I'm relying on you personally to end corrupt practices throughout the Western world. It's a tough job but someone's got to do it.

LarsMac so true I can't even keep up with crooked politicos in my city let alone the country or the World. Sad there are just way to many to count.

Maybe we should have a head butt a politician day every year followed by a kick a banker in the goolies day as a means of reminding them of their subservient position in society.

BBC News - Liam Fox resignation letters in full
The next step is, one hopes, an adequate investigation to uncover Mr Werritty's assets whether declared or otherwise. He didn't go to the trouble of all those visits abroad just to hold hands and watch sunsets. I find it completely unacceptable that Dr Fox hasn't applied for the Chiltern Hundreds. If he won't jump he needs to be pushed.
