Houston's police officers usually hunt down criminals, but one lieutenant has been spending his time hunting ghosts -- in his own home.

It has all the makings of a movie, but this isn't fiction - it's a home right here in Texas. In fact, it's just up Highway 249 in Cypress. The home has been drawing ghost-hunters, sight-seers and the curious.

It is quite a story. The couple moved in about two years ago. He is a Houston police officer. He says by nature he is very skeptical but even he couldn't explain what was going on in his own home.

Soon after moving in, Harry and Leslie Zamora noticed a lot of strange things happening in their house – doors opening and closing, chairs moved around at the dinner table.

"We would come back in here and a chair would be out (away from the table)," said Leslie.

A bathroom light turned on so many times, Leslie taped the switch down. They thought they were crazy, but when the eerie occurrences didn't subside, they decided to document them.

The Zamoras set up infrared cameras and they captured images of orbs of light. Sometimes they were still, sometimes they streaked across the image. They appeared in hallways and on walls, and even outside the home, where the Zamoras had placed a cross. What are these apparitions? They say they are only two ways to explain the phenomenon.

Harry said, "Scientists believe it's some kind of energy. Some people think it's spiritual or in that realm. "

The Zamoras believe in the latter, saying they have a strong faith. They had a pastor bless the house and they have hung crosses in every room.

Now Harry is working with other police officers to document similar occurrences. They call themselves the Phenomena Police. Their goal is to help people to make peace with the spirits he says are around us all.

Those officers are spending some of their off-duty time working with a TV production company to start a TV pilot. They start shooting that on Monday.

Interesting, but didn`t the people in the Amityville Horror series of films apparently suffer from a similar thing? Then it was discovered that they had been broke but went on to make millions out of the books, films, etc about the `horrors` and people were a bit more cynical. (NB: This is NOT to say I disbelieve Harry and Leslie Zamorra, only that I feel we need independent corroborative evidence)
