My wife doesn't even like it if I look at gals at the supermarket.

I think porn makes people less satisfied with the looks of average people.

In sociology class people who watched Charlies Angles rated people less attractive then then people who did not watch the show before rating people.

Well they probably only did the study on gals apparances as non of the guys on Charlies Angles were that great.

I have no problem with people watching porn if that's what floats their boat. Myself, I don't see how it excites anyone.

I know what you mean Canaan. I forget what I typed in when porn popped up but as luck would have it, my teenage son was standing there. He found it hysterical watching me trying to exit out of it quickly as he yelled, "Mom's looking at porn".

OK now I will elaborate on why I asked. Last week Channel 4 over here had "The Secret Life of Porn. The programme I saw was about what is termed Reality Porn over here. It is sold as amatuer stuff, what it really is is a couple of middle aged guys who have purchsed an expensive video camera and using it and a smarmy chat up line promising greater things manage to entice Amateur "Actresses" into bed. Some of the "Actresses" are proffessionals and some are hopefuls wanting to break into the porn business.

I am not a prude and do not approve of censorship per se, however watching these girls being persuaded to have sex with the "actors" and then the camera and sound men struck me as a tad sordid, for me there was nothing at all attractive in the whole thing.

If a woman or man wants in to the porn industry then fine , go in heads up and find fellow performers to tell you what is really going to happen, don't fall for some line off a guy who is actually gratifying his own personal needs.

If these girls are falling for some guy carrying a camera asking for sex then their IQ must be as loose as their legs.

I don't mind a bit of porn ;)

"Define" pornography, and to whose standards?

What may be "pornography" to one, may just be naughty to another! :-2

I have heard though (and please believe me when I tell you I've never seen it) that PREGNANT women do porn. Now that to me is awful :yh_sick

I'm open minded about most things but that goes over the line

I'm torn on porn. I see nothing wrong with using it, on occasion, for "enhancement" purposes. It can be fun. Bullet and I have used porn, and to be honest, we spend 75% of the time laughing. For example: One scene was supposed to be a spin-off from the movie "Gladiator." Ancient Rome, all the costumes, the Parthenon, and during one scene, you could hear a helicoptor flying by. I don't recall too many helicoptors being around in ancient Rome.

I do agree, however, with the fact that it is WAY too accessible to our kids.

My son had a project for school due and part of the requirement was a picture of fruit. To find a photo, he searched just under "fruit, images." The sights that came up were pretty damn shocking. We need to be very aware what the kids are looking at on the web!

As for the women, well, they are making a lot of money, but at what cost? Their self-respect? Probably. Their health? Most definitely. Not worth it, in my opinion.

My reaction to porno films is as follows: After the first ten minutes, i want to go home and screw. After the first twenty minutes, I never want to screw again as long as I live.

I actually think a little soft core porn is good for younger people, it's educational!...but I think they should have to dig it out of trash cans in the alleys like I did.

To heck with Sex Education! I learned everything from the Penthouse Letters section! :D

But seriously, it is way too accessible. And Penthouse, with it's hazy-focus, crossed-legs pictures is a far cry from "Debbie Does Dallas" :wah:

Oh, and I was up at midnight the other night, a movie i was watching on Cinemax (a pay movie channel, but usually family oriented) was over, and I was getting up to turn off the TV, what did I see come on my screen?!!!

Holy Crap! Some pretty serious porn! I mean they were using pretty tricky camera angles to make sure that you couldn't see any genitals, but doggy-style doesn't leave much to the imagination, if you know what I mean!

About that time, of course my wife walks in and asks, "What are you up to?" And of course, even thought I wasn't up to anything at all, I blush and look embarrassed. Dang. I hate that. :o

I think it's a mix of both good and bad. I always find it interesting (If it's the right KIND of porn!) but I never buy it or keep any of it at home. I always worry I'll be in a car crash or assasinated by a Jewish settler and my family would discover it and my memory will forever be soiled by PORN!!! Plus it's against Party principles to possess such things.

It's interesting to find people using their own definitions, generally I have found people to be accepting of the big studio porn made in California and indeed some of the "Stars" of these films have become household names particularly in the USA, but where do you draw the line, how old are the girls? etc etc

Part of the series last week showed an astonished "Actress" getting her positive AIDS test back. Astonished, why? she had had unprotected sex with a male star who had been filming in Brazil where the porn industry does not test it's performers. Whilst I felt very sad for this woman it was apparent during the interview that she really had little clue about the spread of Aids, how can you not know about the single most dangerous risk in your profession?

One of the studios (I cannot remember which one) now makes films which utilise condoms, others say it ruins the "reality" well yes it sure ruins the reality for those that catch AIDS.

I guess I do not know the answer but it was an interesting question

I have one complaint about porn, I used to have two, but since it's readily available online now, I no longer worry about the video store clerk silently judging me. Just kidding, I never used to rent it, but I just love that phrase. :wah:

Technically I still have two complaints, first off, how it's being glorified. They are recruiting girls quicker than you can say piledriver. And secondly, how it's "attempting" to become artistic. PUHLEASE, realize what you are doing for a living. Jenna Jameson and Monet have nothing in common unless she purhases a blue dildo. I don't remember Julia Roberts starting up in porn.

Besides that, I don't think it "hurts" anyone. To each their own.
