Theres not much to be said here. A young lady I have worked with seems to be heading down the same road I did years ago with alcohol. Ive tried to warn her and give her examples of how bad it can get and how easy it is to get there. Now shes gone and gotten herself fired for theft. Im so very disappointed tonight. People will do that to you.

Would you call it a legitimate dismissal, or an excuse to get rid of her? Did she own to the accusation?

I'm sorry Nomad, it can be really disappointing.

its quite obvious she had no plans to quit drinking, maybe getting fired she will attend Alcoholics Anonymous.

It may perhaps be so but it's by no means obvious.

You did what you could, Nomad. Now it's up to her to get help.

There are worse people she could turn out to be like, IMO. You feel you've been disappointed, she's probably feeling like a disappointment every day at this point... when she feels.

Did no one try to talk sense into you, back in the day? And how did that work out for you at the time?

You done your part squirt. You've dropped little chunks of your wisdom into her head... and someday, when she is draped over the toilet bowl blowing chunks, your chunks will rise to the surface and give her something to think about while she is rinsing her mouth.

I was in real turmoil about this last night. I believe most people do good most of the time so Im always shocked when things like this happen. Some co-workers met with her and she denied all of it. I gently inquired from reliable sources and I was assured there was no mistake. Then I receieved further info that others knew of this going back more than a year. Im not disappointed anymore. Ive graduated to disgusted. Still I like my odds regarding believing in people.
