Just in case the memories of Communists Eastern Europe aren't unsettling enough, now comes the kind of information that should have remained hidden in the files somewhere.

Former Polish leader General Jaruzeliski has admitted that the worst part of his job was having to kiss his East German counterpart, Erich Honecker.

''He had this disgusting way of kissing'', sniffed Jaruzeliski the other day, while Honecker's biographer helpfully added, ''whether Honecker was a sloppy kisser, I do not know''.

Interestingly, Jaruzeliski waited until Honecker had died in 1994, to nobody's great saddnes before telling us this.



Was he afraid of hurting the other's feelings or something.:-2
