I have been keeping a loaf of bread in the fridge to keep it fresh. But when I use it it's a bit hard, so should I keep my next loaf in an air tight box, or will it go mouldy?

Bread shouldn't be kept. It should be baked overnight for use throughout the following day and any left over should be fed to the birds. Baking overnight is cheap and simple and consistent using a bread-maker and the product is invariably fresh.

Better to keep it in the freezer, and take slices out as necessary.

You can thaw slightly in the micro, or just toast it.

Whatever you do, make sure you have plenty of BUTTER

If you buy the bread at the store, keep in a dark, dry place, and eat it within a few days.

Freezing or refrigerating only dries it out.

And NEVER microwave bread (IMHO) it causes bread to get dry and chewy.

If it gets moldy, you're either buying too much bread at one time, or not eating it fast enough.
