There is a Forumgarden member here who has seen a Bigfoot. Will you expose yourself?

If you haven't heard the news, a Bigfoot video shot by a northern Manitoba man a few weeks ago will aired on the American TV show A Current Affair last night. I missed it.

Experts commented:

"It was an exciting moment. I saw an intriguing entity that certainly appeared to be an ape-like human hybrid," said Franklin Ruehl, a Glendale, California-based sasquatch researcher who watched the video last Friday.

"I'm most impressed with this tape. It's one more piece of evidence that these entities exist. It's not absolute proof but it should be enough of a motivating factor to encourage an expedition into northern Manitoba."

Ruehl, who hosts the cable access TV show Mysteries From Beyond: The Other Dimension, said although the footage was a bit blurry, the animal didn't move like a bear and had long arms below its knees.

Ruehl said he was impressed with Clarke's credibility and believed the tape to be legitimate, although even a clear video wouldn't be enough to convince people of Bigfoot's existence.

"When it's too sharp, people say it's fabricated. If it's too blurry, you can't decide what it is."

I haven't. Someone close to me has. Very worried about anyone talking about it and having their reputation sullied.

That's all I can say. Our location is very very close to the sighting here in June 1997 where a retired Highway Patrolman witnessed Sasquatch cross the road behind him.

Our sighting was in 2003.

The Bigfoot Myth is about as valid as the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, people have claimed to see both.

I think with all we don't know about this world, anything is possible. Once we think we know it all, we'll stop even trying to learn.

Au contraire! If you had the opportunity to see *something - it was daylight - you were a trained professional - a longtime hunter - able to recognize distance and features - your dogs were going crazy - would you stand in front of that person and tell them their visual experience was a myth?

Skeptics are only skeptics until they've seen it with their own eyes. Then they are believers.

I've seen UFOs many, many times. Chased them in the Air Force, and I personally know a ghost.

Bigfoot doesn't seem like too great a stretch to me. The longer I live, the more I understand that there are many things beyond my knowledge or scientific explanation. I'm not worried, though. I'll get all the answers after I die.

And long before the White Man came onto the scene, the Indian tribes in this region - namely the Shoshone, Nez Perce, and Bannock tribes all had several words in their vocabulary to describe what we call "Bigfoot".

The Shoshone Indians' word was "Tso apittse". It meant "Cannibal Giant".

Since the Native Americans spent their entire lives living off the land - it's doubtful that there was any creature they hadn't encountered at least once.

i wouldnt be to quick to judge though.you know there are still to this day hundreds of miles of untouched wilderness in alaska and canada. the "big foot"might have just pulled what other animles have done from the begining and just migrated to a more remote location.as for those of you who ask "where are the remains of the dead ones.two words "elephant graveyard.

the elephants in some places have been known to travel for miles just to die in a spicefic area.it might be a long shot but hey whos keeping score. :-3

I wonder if it has escaped capture because it is savvy or intelligent. I don't know if a smart bigfoot is scarier than a wild beastly one.

Here's an interesting *new tidbit: (Reported on May 9, 2005)

New Species Of Mammal Found In Borneo

By Geoffrey Lean

Environment Editor and Jan McGirk

South-east Asia Correspondent

The Independent - UK

Scientists believe they have found a wholly new species of mammal deep in the heart of one of the richest, least studied and most endangered wildlife areas on earth.

The discovery of an apparently new kind of fox in the dense forests of central Borneo is an extremely rare event. Only a handful of new mammals have been discovered in the whole world over the past 70 years. It comes as hopes are rising that the forests - which are expected to be cut down within the next 15 years - may be saved at the last minute. The Indonesian government has recently halted logging in an important national park and has begun preparations with the governments of Malaysia and Brunei about establishing a 220,000 kmsq conservation area.

Borneo - the world's third largest island - has possibly the most diverse wildlife on the globe. By a conservative estimate, it is home to 15,000 species of plant; one 52 hectare plot alone has 1,175 different kinds of tree - a world record. Six thousand of them are found nowhere else, as are about 160 of its fish species, 30 of its birds and 25 of its mammals.

Last week WWF reported that 361 entirely new species - 260 insects, 50 plants, 30 freshwater fish, seven frogs, six lizards, five crabs, two snakes and a toad - have been discovered over the past decade, a rate of three a month. But the fox, which has come to light only after the report was written, is a far bigger find. Discoveries of mammals are extremely rare. Six were found in the 1990s in remote forests in Vietnam - a rhino, a rabbit, three deer and a primate - but they were the first since the discovery of the kouprey in the area in 1937.

But all of these are herbivores, making the finding of a carnivorous fox even more extraordinary. The animal - which was caught on an automatic infra-red camera, set up in the forest of the Kayam Menterong National Park - is foxy red all over, with no white markings, and a bushy tail. It has slightly extended back legs, suggesting that it may spend part of its time up trees.

Dr Stuart Chapman, of WWF Indonesia, says that the two pictures taken by the automatic camera had been shown to scientists and the Jakarta Natural History Museum, who believed it was a new species. Local hunters had also failed to recognise it. But no one can be certain until the finding is officially published, and possibly until an expedition is mounted to search for it.

Conservationists are increasingly anxious about the fate of Borneo, described by Charles Darwin as "one great, wild, untidy, luxuriant hothouse made by nature for herself". Illegal logging is devastating its forests; the World Bank predicts that all of them, outside protected areas, will have been cut down by 2020.

But three weeks ago the Indonesian government stopped logging in the key Betung Kerihun National Park, by closing a nearby border crossing which had been used to take the timber into Sarawak, the Malaysian part of Borneo. And it has so far stuck to its decision despite intense pressure from logging interests.

Sasquatch Are Here

Says Outdoorsman

By Bernice Tick

Prince George Citizen Staff

A Prince George man whose greatest passion has been hunting for big game admits he's hooked on proving the existence of sasquatch.

Leo Selzer, who has spent 41 years hunting in the bush around Prince George, is convinced the illusive creatures are around, and he spends as much time as he can in the bush area where he believes they live. He says he's had one pretty clear sighting and several occasions when he's convinced he was communicating with his" furry friends."

In the mid- 1980s when Selzer was moose hunting in the Gregg Creek area west of the city, he did his loud moose calls that bring in the bulls during rutting season.

"after a few calls I heard a response -- like someone banging on a tree about a kilometer away. I would call. The right away, bang, bang. A small black bear appeared, wandering towards the banging sounds. The bear stopped and stood up on its hind legs looking towards a tall fir tree, and then all of a sudden it hightailed in the opposite direction toward me, veered off and went over the ridge."

It was then that Selzer saw a tall, dark-coloured creature step out from the cover of the fir tree into the open, and then quickly stepped behind the tree and was gone," said Selzer, noting that logged-off has little human activity. In 2000 Selzer was again hunting at Gregg Creek when, at about 400 metres, he spotted what he first thought was a large bear standing on its hind legs watching the hunters.

"It was standing next to a large, broken-off fir tree and was about the same dark colour, maybe greyish around its shoulders and on its chest.

Thinking it could be a grizzly, I kept a close eye on it, watching it shift its weight from one leg to the other a couple of times for about a half hour.

"All of a sudden it was gone, but later I realized a bear would never stand on its hind legs for that long without getting down and back up again," said Selzer.

After studying that area closely, he's concluded the creatures leave landmarks and directional signs by piling trees into X marks behind closely knit trees, and bending and shaping spindly trees into arches and shaped pointers carefully threaded through willow tops.

He believes Sasquatch eat bark from trees like aspens, and has seen markings showing large fingernails and teeth were used to remove bark.

He's also seen large footprints, but hasn't been fortunate to be able to photograph then fresh or complete.

"One footprint, going up a grade, was pretty clear, about 13 to 14 inches long, eight inches wide at the heel, and about six inches wide at the top of the ball of the foot. There were indications of possible toe impressions about one to three inches beyond the ball of the foot."

In 1994 on the Hoodoo Lakes road he could hear three individual voices give out a holler or two which was responded to by"jabbering type of language."

"I thought it must be some drunken people back there on a bush road or something, but I later found out there is no road or clearing in that area."

In mid-June, Selzer came across an area in the Gregg Creek, about 300 to 400 yards long, containing a series of blinds and shelters, and tepee-like frameworks he believes were built by a sasquatch.

The blinds are waist to shoulder height with logs and trees pushed together to form a lean-to like structure.

"The frameworks, up to 50 feet high, are made with long spindly trees intricately intertwined to form the structure., "said Selzer.

Brian Vike in Houston, who reports on unidentified flying objects and such matters, has received reports from residents about sasquatch sightings in the Buck Flats area.

"Two Houston women, driving up Buck Flats road, were startled recently when a large animal walked upright across the road in front of their vehicle.

"The animal, described much like a sasquatch, mad long strides into the forest, but did not turn to look back at the women."

He said a camping party at Silverhorne Lake reported hearing chilling screams in the night coming from around the lake, which cannot be associated with the known animals in the region.

"One other sighting was reported on the Morice River Road when two people fishing witnessed a large two-legged animal on the opposite bank of a river walk slowly into the forest and disappear," said Vike.

American William Dranginis, said he saw a bigfoot once - hairy, 7 feet tall, and sprinting through the woods of Virginia.

The 12-second sighting changed the life of Dranginis, who outfitted a 24-foot mobile veterinary clinic as a Bigfoot Primate Research lab.

Equipped with scopes, radios and a Night-Sight camera that can detect an animal in the dark at 800 yards away, he heads out at least two weekends a month. But still no second sighting for Dranginis, who would like to push legislation to protect the creatures.

"Do not shoot it," said Selzer.

"They mean no harm, but they are curious, and incredibly intelligent beings."

Selzer's latest reported sighting on July 20 came from a visiting couple from Saskatoon.

They told Selzer that, while driving Highway 16 East at about 8 p.m. near Tabor Mountain, they saw what they first thought was a large man crossing the highway.

Describing the creature as about 7 1/2 feet tall covered with hair, thick barrelled shoulders and narrow waist, they said it crossed the road about 100 yards ahead of them in about three steps.

The couple, who have never believed in the sasquatch theory, were so haunted by the experience they couldn't sleep.

After they got home they contacted Selzer, who has added his investigation of the area to his website: http://sasquatch-pg.net.
