From the news stories - BBC News - Row over Amazon sales of paedophile advice guide for example - the book advises purchasers on how to stay within the law. One might think that the world needs rather more self-help guides of that sort, not fewer. Or is this a special Christian meaning of "promote" that's so far escaped my notice? Staying within the law, I'd imagine, includes lots of don't do this, don't do that and especially never under any circumstances do the other. It's the kind of advice people get once they're jailed for doing it. Far from banning the book it makes more sense to hand it out free at the door after church services.

Oi, Baggins, shimmy on back in here and explain your thinking a bit.

Or someone else? It doesn't have to be evangelical but a bit of common sense would help.
