How can anyone take seriously what a boy (15 at the time) who was tortured and held prisoner in a foreign country for 8 yrs says?

I don't buy it for a second.

I don't even care if he was guilty or not. He was threatened with death by gang rape then offered the chance to go back to Canada after another year served in jail if he confessed. Total bullshit.

You're probably right, but thats the kind of military capitalism buys you. Want one?

How is this about capitalism? Seems to me about not wanting to admit wrongful actions... and that's just plain human narcissism.

Capitalism is narcissistic, thats what it feeds on. This war on terror is not in defense of the American people as much as it is a retaliation against those who attacked commerce in the symbolism of 'world trade' towering above all else. Thats America's national security. The deaths of those killed were merely a convenient excuse to get the majority on board with the initiation of this war. Maintaining that war has become necessary commerce in and of itself.

Achieving a guilty plea from this young man is all thats needed to save enough face in the eyes of enough Americans to justify whatever it is the American military needs to in order to continue its assault on non-capitalistic cultures.

America has one goal and one goal only, that goal is to survive in its current form, and it will kill, pillage, rape, comfort, love, hate, coerce, bribe, negotiate and whatever other verb, adjective or noun one would like to assign to it to that end.

The question people in other countries should be asking themselves is: Who else wants to be like us? America is conservatism on steroids and this is what that looks like.

I don't know that vigilantism is solely a capitalistic trait. It seems rather primal to me.
