If anyone needs just one reason never to go on a cruise, maybe this is it. Or if you have a massive sense of adventure. Fill yer boots. I'd rather go camping in Wales in the winter without a tent

That is horrible! All those heavy-looking objects flying around. Never saw anything like that on cruises I've been on, it may have made me rethink my trips.

That sometimes happens on the ferry from Melbourne to Tasmania. Last time the weather was bad, waves crashed against it and broke windows.

I experienced similar weather back in December 1973 onboard the Fairstar between Auckland and Sydney. We noted that every 10th wave was a big one that nearly reached the flybridge of the wheelhouse and when the ship rolled the starboard stabiliser was clean out of the water. Maximum roll was around 30 degrees with a pitch of up to 20 degrees, lord knows what the yaw was. As we were steaming at about a 45 degree angle to the swell a few of us wanted the captain to turn the ship around to surf the waves but apparently the we were too nose (forward section) heavy and would have porpoise dived our way back home. It was great fun steaming along at 10-15 knots until a massive wave broke the stabilisers then everyone including senior officers got sea sick.
